Signing up with Direct Energy

Show all answers

We recommend contacting your current energy provider to ask about your contract expiration date and if they have a cancellation policy for switching to another company.

When you switch to a new energy provider, your local distribution company remains the same. By law, the local distribution company can't provide different care levels to customers who have chosen another energy provider. So you'll continue to receive the same quality of delivery, emergency response and meter reading from your current distribution company.

Direct Energy is a competitive retail supplier of electricity and natural gas that offers different plans (fixed, variable, etc.), terms (1 year, 3 years, etc.) and incentives to customers who sign a contract. Your local distributor is specific to the site location and is responsible for the wires and pipes necessary to deliver electricity or natural gas to your home.

Future savings depend on fluctuating energy prices; however, you are not guaranteed savings. Our competitively priced fixed-rate products offer stability and protection from the ups and downs of the energy market. Fixed-rate stability allows you to budget your energy costs because your rate will not change during your contract term. That means that even when the market rises and falls, your fixed rate will stay the same and you can enjoy peace of mind!
