You must be a current Direct Energy customer to participate in the Refer a Friend program. You can refer a friend by sharing your referral code which can be found on your bill or by signing into your online account manager. Your friend can then apply that referral code when they sign up as a new customer with Direct Energy. 

You can refer a friend, family member, coworker, or anyone who has not been a Direct Energy customer within the past 12 months. For more details, please see the Terms and Conditions.

Both you and your referred friend will receive a $50 credit on your bill1. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for the Refer a Friend program for details on program eligibility.

There is no limit to how many friends you can refer! For every friend you refer who becomes our customer, you get rewarded. It's that simple!

Once your referred friend has been with Direct Energy for 60 days, you'll both qualify for the $50 bill credit!¹ Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for full details.

If you didn't apply your referral code during signup, please contact customer service within 45 days to apply it.

1Refer a Friend is an optional incentive program. Direct Energy's current customers will receive a $50 bill credit for each person who becomes a Direct Energy customer using their unique referral code and remains a customer for 60 days. Referred new customers will receive their $50 bill credit after being a customer for 60 days when they sign up using a friends' referral code. Bill credits are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and have no cash value. If any portion remains after cancellation, it forfeits. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.
