Direct Energy FAQs
Your Cashback Plus Reward will be applied to your bill annually on the Anniversary Date of your Energy Plan. We do not have penalties for canceling your plan, however, if you cancel before the end of your fixed rate term, you will no longer be eligible for Cashback Plus Rewards.
Once you select your Green Option (25%, 50% or 100% green), Direct Energy will purchase and retire a percentage, based on your selection, of 7,200 kWh of RECs per year. 7,200 kWh represents the average annual residential customer electricity usage in Alberta. The monthly Green fee will contribute to the purchase of the RECs. You can add, reduce or remove your percentage Green at any time by calling 1-866-374-6299.
Absolutely! Use the Service Information calendar on the checkout page to specify when you would like to switch to Direct Energy. Scheduling your Direct Energy start date in advance will allow you additional time to cancel your current plan and discuss waiving cancelation fees with your current provider if applicable.
Our fixed-rate products offer stability and protection from fluctuating energy costs for up to 5 years. Depending on your plan selection, you may also qualify for annual Cashback Rewards.
We get it; things happen! Direct Energy does not charge exit fees so you can cancel your contract at any time with no penalty. And if you were sent a bonus Google device, there is no device recovery fee associated with any product.
Goal Zero Crush FAQs
You must select the 100% Green Option to receive the Goal Zero Crush Light Chroma. You will also receive $25 in annual cashback rewards when you select the 100% Green Option.
Your Goal Zero Crush Light Chroma will be mailed to your billing address on file with Direct Energy within 90 days of your service start date. Available for the 100% Green Option only.
If you cancel your Green Option plan within the 90 days of your service start date, then you will not receive the Goal Zero Crush Light Chroma.

Goal Zero's new solar-powered lantern, the Crush Light Chroma, is easy to use, lightweight, and has multiple settings. Use it for hiking, camping, during a power outage, or simply having a backyard bonfire with friends.
- Light it. This collapsible solar-powered lantern is a lightweight companion to any adventure, with 60 lumens of usable light on high and a 35-hour runtime on low. It also features a soft candle flicker mode for ambiance.
- Colour it. You can turn any campsite into a party with six different colour modes and a multi-colour fade.
- Charge it. The Crush Light Chroma charges up with ease from any USB port via micro-USB cable (included) and can be powered from the sun via its built-in solar panel.
- Crush it. The Crush light Chroma is as easy to store as it is to use, collapsing to just over a centimeter.
The Crush Light Chroma ships in Demo Mode. Before first use, take the Crush Light Chroma out of DEMO mode by pressing the on/off button for 10 seconds.
Fully charge the crush light before its first use. With the lantern turned on, double-click the on/off button to switch from white light to colour mode.
- There are two ways to charge the crush light:
- Charge from any USB port via micro-USB cable (included) - 2.5 hours
- Recharge the Crush Light Chroma from the sun with built-in solar panel - 20 hours (full sun)
The Crush Light is fully charged when the light turns green.

3 Year Bundled Gas & Electricity Plan: $30 per year ($15 per site) for each year of your Energy Plan and a total of $90 for the term of the Plan.
1 Year Bundled Gas & Electricity Plan: A total of $10 ($5 per site) for the term of the Plan.

5 Year Gas or Electricity Plan: $25 for each year of your Energy Plan and a total of $125 for the term of the Plan.

Super Flex Plus Natural Gas Plan
Rates float with the current market price plus $2.00/GJ for natural gas. Natural gas winter price cap is $5.99/GJ from November to March for the term.

Rates float with the current market price plus 1.50 cents/kWh for electricity.
Super Flex Plus Energy Plan
Rates float with the current market price plus $2.00/GJ for natural gas and 1.50 cents/kWh for electricity. Natural gas winter price cap is $5.99/GJ from November to March for the term.
