  • What happens to my service after I switch to Direct Energy?

    If you do decide to switch your service away from your current retailer to Direct Energy, your service will remain the same. Your distribution company will continue to deliver your electricity and/or natural gas to your home, read your meter, and respond to outages and other emergencies. Your billing will change from your current provider to Direct Energy.

  • Can I switch to service with Direct Energy if I am on a contract with another energy company?

    We recommend that you contact your current company to ask about your contract expiration date and to learn about cancellation policies for switching to another...

  • What is the cost to switch to Direct Energy?

    Direct Energy does not charge an enrollment fee. However, your current energy supplier may assess a cancellation fee if you're switching providers within your contract term. Your current supplier can confirm what those costs (if any) might be. Also, the utility company (or generation company) for your area may charge a one-time fee for connection or disconnection. This fee will appear on your electricity bill on behalf of the utility company approximately thirty (30) days (or one billing cycle)...

  • Are there any fees required to sign up with Direct Energy?

  • How do I sign up with Direct Energy?

    Enrolling for service with Direct Energy is simple, and you can do it over the phone or via the web, depending upon your location in our service area. There will be no service interruptions, no hassles and you'll receive the same monthly bill as always from your local utility company....

All customers are free to purchase natural gas services from the default supply provider or from a retailer of their choice and to purchase electricity services from the regulated rate provider or from a retailer of their choice. The delivery of natural gas and electricity to you is not affected by your choice. If you change who you purchase natural gas services or electricity services from, you will continue receiving natural gas and electricity from the distribution company in your service area.
