The program will provide $300 in total electricity rebates; $50 for six consecutive months (July to December 2022) to qualified customers. Eligible consumers include all residential, farm, and small business customers who consume less than 250,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, whose current residence is connected to the system, and have consumed electricity within the past calendar year.
If you qualify, you don't have to do anything to activate this rebate, it will be applied automatically. Look for a $50 credit in the Distributor Charges section titled "GOA Utility Commodity Rebate" on your bill starting with your July bill.

On March 7, 2022, the Government of Alberta announced an electricity rebate program in response to rising electricity and delivery costs, and on July 6th they extended the rebate amount. This program will provide eligible consumers with $300 in total rebates on their electricity bills, with six payments of $50 over six consecutive months (July to December 2022). The rebates will be automatically credited to eligible consumers' electricity bills, beginning on their July bill.
